Dear Parents and Carers
Last Sunday was Social Justice Sunday, social justice is one of the ways we can show our ‘faith in action’ as expressed in our school Vision and Mission statement. Pope Francis in his social justice statement expresses:
“Teaching and education are the primary means of promoting integral human development, and they are essential for the promotion of peace.
In a word, teaching and education are the foundations of a cohesive civil society".
Pope Francis
Many parents express, at enrolment interviews, that they seek Catholic values for their children, these values at their core mean love; love for each other, love for self, and love for God. Social justice is the action of love and service to others, we encourage our students to work for the poor and to promote the dignity of every person. In a world that is increasingly in conflict, these values have never been more important in contributing to a peaceful world for future generations.
We wish all of our dads, fathers, grandfathers, and special male role models a special day on Sunday, for Father’s Day. We hope you are spoilt at home and enjoyed the special celebrations at school, thanks to our P&F for providing a super sausage sizzle!
We love that our community enjoys our beautiful playground, having our families onsite and engaged with our community is important to us. However, while students are on school grounds, staff have a duty of care to ensure the safety and supervision of students. To avoid confusion for children, we ask that while on school grounds, parents actively support all school rules.
We also ask all families to support the following;
- Before school: Students who arrive before 8:45am (when the teacher comes on duty in the playground) must remain seated under the COLA area.
- After school: Families leave the school grounds at 3:30pm or when the teacher on duty leaves the pickup area.
If our families wish to gather in the afternoons, we encourage you to take advantage of local playgrounds such as Mick Ryan Park.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe.
Yours in partnership
