Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to our school year, after very challenging holidays we are all back to school. The fires have affected families and individuals in many different ways and as a school we want to support our families who have been directly and indirectly affected. We are aware of the families who have suffered directly the enormous loss of homes and livelihoods, and we are endeavoring to help these families in terms of financial and emotional support as such circumstances take such a huge toll. We are also aware of families who have been indirectly affected as a result of reduced holiday trade. The Catholic Education Office have been incredibly supportive and has made clear that they will support our families who may benefit from fee reduction or other forms of support through this initial recovery period and into the future. We have Catholic Care counselling for families also available as well of course as our school Counsellor Kelly Cubis- Higgs who is happy to meet with parents and students who may need support. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally if you require this support, my email address is lindy.nelson@dow.catholic.edu.au or call the Office to speak with me.
We are looking forward to welcoming our lovely Kindergarten on Thursday morning, what a great joy that will be to our whole school community. Our lovely Parish community are offering a Tea and Tissues Morning Tea after drop off.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped to make our return to school so positive last week, we are truly blessed to live in such a caring community. The names are too numerous to mention but we are planning to be thanking these people personally.
Yours in Partnership
Laurinda Nelson
