Dear Parents and Carers
We wish all of our dads a very Happy Fathers’ day for yesterday. Our children are so lucky to have these important grandads, dads, uncles in their lives, our classrooms have been a hive of activity preparing cards and gifts. I admit that I certainly learned so many things from my lovely dad when he wasn’t trying to teach me anything at all. I know so many dads in our community share as Umberto Eco so beautifully puts ‘little scraps of wisdom’ when they are working alongside, surfing with or just hanging out with their kids. You will never understand the power of your time and presence in the lives of your children. Many eager shoppers were lined up to make sure the P and F Father’s Day stall was a huge success. An enormous thank you to our P and F and their many volunteers for their amazing dedication to our school community.
Spring has certainly sprung over the last week with the lovely warm weather and not so lovely high winds! We are taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather to replant our back oval after the damage suffered through the bushfires. We will have to be patient while we wait for the grass to do its growing so our oval will be out of action for a number of weeks until the new grass is up to the patter of many feet. During this time we will also be erecting our new football posts and getting our soccer posts on the right side of the fence.
We miss having our parents in our playground each day, we are eagerly awaiting the time when we can welcome you in again. Sadly we have been instructed this week that due to COVID we will not be able to run our Transition To School Playgroup this year which is very sad for our 2021 Kindergarten families. Our current regulations are in place until the end of term, we are all praying that things will be a little freer next term for our Kinder Orientation and End of Year 6 functions and celebrations. Thank you as always for your patience.
Have a great week and I will see you at the front gates or at the hall in the afternoons.
Yours in partnership
Laurinda Nelson

Dear Parents
Students travelling on a Shoal Bus to and from school are required to have a valid school bus pass for the school service they are catching. If a valid school pass cannot be shown a fare will be charged. In the event the school bus pass is lost, some form of student ID is to be shown whilst obtaining a replacement pass (fee applies). You can help make your child’s school bus journey more pleasant by ensuring your child has a valid school bus pass and presents it to the driver in the morning AND afternoon. Parents are reminded that the School Free Travel is only valid from home to school as per the conditions on the back of the pass. Fares will be charged for all other journeys. Skateboards/Scooters/Bicycles are not permitted on the bus.
If you have any questions or your child requires a new bus pass please contact Shoal Bus.
