This week we celebrate the important document Laudato Si', Pope Francis calls us to live in our beautiful world with a commitment to protect and support our environment and the local and global community in which we live. The importance of fostering right relationships is the focal point for our Catholic communities. Fostering quality relationships challenges us to examine the gift of our spirituality that allows an exchange, as Pope Francis says this is done by ‘listening and journeying together’. I feel very privileged to work in a community where adults and children all strive to develop respectful relationships which continue to build our very special community of St Mary’s. Our families have such a strong connection with our local environment and a strong sense of doing many little things to achieve the great goal of making a difference in our world, Thanks for doing your bit and supporting your children to understand the importance of being someone who acts for the greater good in our world.
Yesterday we saw evidence of this, as our students participated in the Biggest Morning Tea Fundraising Event for Cancer support and research. Our Mini Vinnies team were inundated with so many scrumptious delights, and business was booming at the cake stall during both breaks. This fundraiser is so pertinant this year in particular with our amazing Gabrielle Peters currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Mrs Peters was so humbled and grateful for the support shown for this fantastic cause, over $500 was raised. Congratulations Mini Vinnies Team and thanks to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Collins for their hardwork.
Our congratulations and prayers go to Father Michael Dyer this weekend as he is installed officially as the Parish Priest of the Milton /Ulladulla Parish. Michael has been acting in this role for the last few years and it is wonderful to see his service recognised by this more formal appointment. I invite you to join us in attending Ulladulla Mass at 9am on Sunday to show your appreciation for Michael and his support of our school and wider community.
I’m really looking forward to meeting our new Kindergarten 2023 families over the next few weeks, so exciting to these new little faces making their first step towards big school.
Yours in partnership
Laurinda Nelson

Although the wind was quite chilly on the hill this week, our students still managed to throughly enjoy their NRL Clinic with Coach Matt and Coach Gemma. The students went through their warm up, followed by some fun filled skill drills and then finished off the session with a game of Bee Tag and League Tag. Our Kindergarten group were very enthusiactic as you can see from the gallery of photos.
