Dear Parents and Carers
It was wonderful to see the many and varied versions of Souperheroes arriving at school today. Many of our chosen superheroes do not wear capes, but instead they are people who live a life of love by giving of their time so generously to others. They make a difference in the lives of so many.
Real superheroes are our volunteers, our canteen helpers, our P and F.
Real superheroes support those in need, the helpless, the homeless, the lonely.
Real superheroes wear uniforms and badges and stethoscopes!
Real superheroes are members of our Police and defence forces, and first responders.
Real superheroes are our parents who lead by examples of kindness and community.
Real superheroes are the students who try their best everyday to be clever and kind.
Enormous thanks to our Kitchen Garden Team lead by Mrs Robinson, Jodi Donnelly and Anna Sim who made sure that there was delicious soup to enjoy and money to give to St Vincent de Paul to help the needy in our community.
This week we also welcome writers to our school as part of the StoryFest event. We welcome Kate and Jol Temple the authors of many books including ‘The Bin Chicken”. It is wonderful to have successful authors visiting to inspire our budding writers, thanks to the StoryFest Committee for supporting this important and valuable initiative.
We are looking forward to the School Disco on Friday night, this event is supported by our hardworking P and F. Please come along and enjoy the fun, parents must stay to supervise their children and are very welcome on the dance floor.
Good luck to our Netball teams who are travelling to Berkley next week to compete against other schools in a Fun Day. Mrs Treweek and Mrs Peters have been running training at lunchtime to ensure out teams work together and have fun! Good luck girls!
Congratulations to Evie in Year 4 who competed in the Combined Catholic Schools Cross Country Championships last Tuesday. Against a very talented field, Evie managed to come first in the 10 Years Girls from the Wollongong Diocese, what a great effort.
Semester One Reports will released next Friday, please take the time to read through your child’s report, there is so much to celebrate in their learning. Parent Teacher Interviews will be offered in Week 10 to discuss your child’s progress.
Enjoy your week and I look forward to seeing you around our school.
Yours in partnership
Laurinda Nelson

Biggest Morning Tea was hosted by Stage 2 last week.A smorgasbord of devious sweets were for sale at First Break and at school pick up. An astounding $640 was raised, with all proceeds going to to the Cancer Council. Our donation QR code which went out on Compass on Wednesday, will remain open until Monday of Week 9 if you would still like to donate funds to this worthy cause.

SOUP -ER HERO DAY and STEPHANIE ALEXANDER KITCHEN GARDEN

Year 5 cooked up a storm on Wednesday preparing our school grown pumpkins and the chicken broth for SOUPERHERO DAY! They also made dough for the flatbreads which were served along with the pumpkin and chicken noodle soup.
