St Mary's Star of the Sea Choirs - Shoalhaven Eisteddfod

Infants Highly Commended,

Senior Choir 1st Place

Infants choir will be performing their Eisteddfod song this Friday (before Year 2 assembly) and the Primary choir will be performing a song in week 7 (before Year 5 assembly)

Last Thursday both the Infants and Primary choirs from St Mary's Star of the Sea travelled to Nowra to take part in the City of Shoalhaven Eisteddfod. 

We were by far the smallest choir in attendance on the day, but made our presence felt early on with our Infants choir performing "Never Smile at a Crocodile" and being awarded a Highly Commended. 

The Primary choir performed in the following section (Small Schools) and won first place for "Let it be" and "All night all day/Swing low".

After lunch the Primary choir had one more performance in the heavily contested Primary Restricted Section, wowing the audience with their beautiful singing of "Amazing Grace". 

We are so very proud of our St Mary's Choir students for their hard work rehearsing and performing their songs (sometimes at lunch time!), as well as being such wonderful ambassadors of our school. These children demonstrated to our wider community what belonging to our small school is all about in the way they supported each other and showed respect to the other schools at the event.
