STORY FEST
Storyfest 2019, is a celebration of storytelling in our community and is being organised by some very talented locals. St Mary’s students have many opportunities to be a part of this fantastic initiative in our community.
The story writing competition is currently being judged and 8 of the 12 students that have been ‘longlisted’ are from St Mary’s. Congratulations to Zara Clegg, Zach Diver, Oscar Perry Dickenson, Eden Sakora, Hugo Perry Dickenson, Xavier Brooks, Elise Proctor and Thomas Squires.
The school based events will be held from June 19-21 at Milton Public, just a short walk for our students.
Kindergarten: Special story time event with favourite characters Olivia & Grug
Years 1-4: Leigh Hobbs
Bestselling Author and Children's Laureate, Leigh Hobbs shows how to tell stories through pictures using his favourite character Mr Chicken and his new book Mr Chicken All Over Australia.
Years 3-6: Katrina Nannestad
Katrina Nannestad is the award-winning author of the Red Dirt Diaries series, the Olive of Groves series and her most recent books - The Girl, the Dog and the Writer in Rome the sequel, The Girl, the Dog and the Writer in Provence and yet to come (in November!) The Girl, the Dog and the Writer in Lucerne. Katrina entertains children with hilarious, smart and heartwarming stories to inspire and amuse.
Years 5 & 6- The Harry Potter Show
Harry Potter Festival Event starring the brilliantly funny 'Professor Frankie'. Explore the magical world of the Harry Potter books with Professor Frankie Falconette, as she brings to life the characters, creatures and adventures from J.K. Rowling’s best selling series. Includes dress up competition and children can bring their own Harry Potter books for the Professor to stamp with her exclusive stamp. (Only HP show officially sanctioned by J.K. Rowling.)

Years 1 to 4-- $22 per student for the Leigh Hobbs creative workshop
A creative writing workshop with Leigh Hobbs. Unleash your inner creativity using words and pictures in this fun-filled workshop. Only 25 students can attend, so it will be first in with form and money to the Office. Please fill out the form if you wish your child to have this opportunity.
