Religious Education News
The students of Year 2 have been preparing prayerfully for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. This is a sacred and meaningful time for our young learners as they deepen their understanding of forgiveness, grace, and God’s unconditional love.
To support this important step, we will be holding our Reconciliation Retreat Day next Friday, 5 September, here at school. This day will be filled with prayer, reflection, and engaging activities designed to help students explore the themes of reconciliation in a gentle and age-appropriate way. It promises to be a joyful and spiritually enriching experience for all involved. The Sacrament of First Reconciliation will then take place at 6:00pm on Friday, 5 September.
As we move into September, we encourage families to attend the upcoming Family Mass at Milton on Sunday, 7 September. This will be a special opportunity to gather in prayer and community as we continue to nurture the spiritual growth of our candidates. Families and students who are preparing to make the sacrament should come at 4:00pm to engage in a short lesson, concluding with Mass at 5:00pm.
On Friday, 19 September, students will participate in a full-day Confirmation Retreat Day at school. This day will help deepen their understanding of the Holy Spirit and the significance of Confirmation as they prepare to renew their baptismal promises.
We will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation during the 9:00am Mass on Sunday, 21 September at Holy Family Church, Ulladulla. This will be a joyful and reverent occasion, and we warmly invite all families to join us in prayer and celebration.
Please continue to keep our Year 2 and Year 6 students in your prayers as they prepare to be strengthened in faith and filled with the Spirit.
Lastly, we welcome back Father Michael, who has been overseas on sabbatical. During his time overseas, he has been concelebrating masses, intently strengthening his own faith, studying, and gathering lots of ideas to bring back to our own parish here at Milton. We look forward to welcoming Father Michael back into our parish and school from the end of Week 7, and we wish him all the very best on his return.
Yours in faith,
Dylan Anderson
