The BlazeAid camp is at the Milton Showground registering property owners and organising the fencing crews.  This is ‘hands on’ and ‘boots on the ground’ Aussie determination.

 

Property owners register for assistance and teams of workers work to restore the fence line boundaries of affected properties.  Given the extent of the damage to properties in our community BlazeAid will be in this location for a long time, at the very least three months.  As a community we are providing meals for the volunteer workers.  The workers need breakfast, lunches to take to the sites and evening meals when they return.   There are many donations of tinned and packaged foods, however the majority of supplies will need to be fresh produce from local sources and local businesses.

 

As a group, club, organisation, family or an individual your participation is part of the recovery. No matter how small the contribution the collective effort is greater.  When everyone does a little bit a whole lot gets done. Once or twice a week could you commit to bake scones, cakes, slices, meals?  Launder some tea towels. Help prepare and serve meals or fund supplies. As a group could cook a BBQ for the volunteers?  Could you pay an invoice?

 

When the long term project is broken down into smaller practicable efforts the project is manageable.  We are asking you to put your hand up.
