PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Next Sunday as a Parish we will be celebrating Confirmation, many of our Year Six students will be confirmed by Bishop Brian at Ulladulla Church.  Confirmation is the final of the Sacraments of Initiation, and the point at which the children are deemed capable of making a choice to choose to follow the Catholic tradition. Sacraments are signs of God’s grace brought upon upon an individual, our belief is that the power of the Holy Spirit will be conferred on each child, inspiring them with gifts to live in a fully human way as Jesus did. We wish the Confirmation candidates and their families a wonderful day of celebration as they make another significant step in their journey to spiritual awareness.

Over the past few weeks the teachers have been busy preparing mid year reports for our students, I have had the opportunity to read each report over the weekend. It was wonderful to see the level of achievement and growth that is evident in each child’s report, and the acknowledgement of each child’s own individual personal and learning goals. When you receive your child’s report, please look closely at the level of effort that is awarded and share and discuss these grades with your child, all we can ever ask of our children is for them to do their best. An enormous thanks to the teachers for the many hours of time and effort that goes into assessment and writing of reports for each child. Please log onto Compass to book Parent Teacher Interviews next Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.

Next week will be a busy one to end the term:

  • Friday -Retreat Day For Year 6 and Other Confirmation Candidates at St Mary’s.
  • Sunday Confirmation -Ulladulla Church 11.00am
  • Tuesday - Talent Quest - 12.00pm
  • Friday- Last of term - Souper Hero Day for Mini Vinnies.

Please note we have been forced to cancel next week's Athletics Carnival due to the continuing wet grounds.  The Athletics Carnival will now be held in Term 3, Week 1, Wednesday 14th July.

Thanks to students and teachers for making such an extra effort to make these thoughtful and fun events happen to bring such joy into the lives of our students.

I hope all of our families enjoy some time together over the school holidays and we look forward to welcoming everyone back safely to school on Monday, 12th July .

Yours in partnership,

Laurinda Nelson
