PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome again to Term 3, we have had so much necessary communication already this term due to the evolving COVID Restrictions therefore my Newsletter will be brief this week. As one of six schools open in the Diocese of Wollongong we are mindful of communities in lockdown and children who cannot attend school in person. We are so grateful for living with freedom and in such a beautiful God given natural environment. Please do all you can to support our local businesses and many of our St Mary’s families who are weathering such challenging times again with travel restrictions.
On Friday, we will be hosting our Athletics Carnival on our own back oval, after several unavoidable cancellations, the carnival will be a modified version. We are moving quickly to hold the carnival in the unlikely circumstance that we are also forced into remote learning, in coming weeks. The marking of running tracks will be challenging, our best but not quite Olympic standard! We will not be able to run High Jump or Long Jump as we do not have the correct equipment or trained personnel to run these events on site. We are working towards offering an opportunity for students who wish to participate at Diocesan Level in these events off site trials in the coming weeks. The Sausage Sizzle organised by Year 6 parents will go ahead, all food will be prepared off site and delivered. Sadly we cannot have parents on site but there is of course limited ‘drive in’ style parking outside our school fence if you are around. If you are spectating please remain in your car and /or observe all social distancing measures.
Homework is often a contentious topic within school communities, we are currently reviewing our homework policy and practices and would like you to have your say. We ask that this survey is completed by this Friday 16th July. Please find the link below and press SUBMIT when complete.

Thanks for responding so quickly and efficiently to our resumption of COVID protocols. I look forward to seeing you dropping off in the morning or picking up in the afternoon, if you have any concerns as always please do not hesitate to call.
Yours in partnership
