PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
This week we have gathered to mark Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season in our church. During the liturgy led by Father Michael, ashes were blessed and mixed with oil. These are traditionally marked on each person’s forehead in the sign of the cross and are regarded as the most public sign of our faith in our broader community, even as people politely try to remove the ‘smudge’ from your forehead. This year in COVID times each child was sprinkled with ashes on top of their head with the words ‘Be faithful to the Gospel.’ As people of faith, this is our calling and our mission to be forces for peace in the world. In our current climate, there has never been a time when our world was more in need of good people of faith and heart.
Next Monday night 7th March at 5:30 pm we will be holding the AGM for our Parents and Friends Association. This team is the life blood of our parent committee within the school, they have been responsible for providing many exciting events and facilities for our students at St Mary’s. It is a great way to meet other parents and give back to the school community in a really significant way. The meeting is a forum for parents to discuss the direction of the school with our leadership team, please join us in person or on the zoom link below.
We warmly welcome all families to Family Mass at 5.00pm this Sunday 6 March at Holy Family Church, Ulludulla. Following the Mass there will be a brief information session regarding Sacramanetal and an opportunity to enrol your child (Years 2-6) for any of the Sacraments in 2022.
Yours in Partnership,
Lind Nelson
