PRINCIPALS REPORT

This week we celebrated Book Week in fine style, with lots of wonderful costumes this year. We were lucky to have our special author visit Allison Tait (A.L. Tait) who is the internationally published bestselling author of middle-grade adventure series The Mapmaker Chronicles, the Ateban Cipher novels and the Maven & Reeve Mysteries. A multi-genre writer, teacher and speaker with many years’ experience in magazines, newspapers and online publishing. Allison is co-host of the top-rating Your Kid’s Next Read podcast and former co-host of the So You Want To Be A Writer podcast. Years’ 5 and 6 were fortunate to take part in a writer’s workshop during the day. A big thanks to Mrs Louise Hamilton, our librarian who always makes our school library such a welcoming and exciting place to dive into books.

Next Thursday 1 September our school will be celebrating an early Father’s Day with a breakfast bbq sausage sizzle from 8am. This will be followed by a special Father’s Day Liturgy. Thanks to our amazing P & F for organising the Father’s Day stall for our students to make their gift purchases on Wednesday 31 August and Thursday 1 September. Gifts will range from $2-$8.

Preparations are well underway for this year’s school play ‘Pirates versus Mermaids’. This is a wonderful opportunity for our creative students to share their talents with the school community. The play will premiere on Monday 19th September at 6pm, followed by a special matinee performance for Grandparents Day on Tuesday 20th September. All students will have a part in the play so please save this date and invite all Grandparents to join us for a picnic on Grandparents Day.

Yours in partnership
